From Tempe House to Cook's River (Tempe House Tour Part 7)

One of the positives of the development at Wolli Creek is the rehabilitation of the parkland sweeping down to the Cook's River. Alexander Brodie Spark once had a bathing pavilion on the river.

Unfortunately we have heard nothing about this space being publicly available, as was promised to the communtiy.

The suburb across the river is Tempe, named after the house.

Tomorrow: looking across the river from the other side.

Relationships? o0h!

I don't THINK there is a relationship between the shopfront advertising their pest control services, and the billboard in the airspace above, despite the colour schemes of both. (The billboard can currently be seen in many locations around Sydney).

o0h! But I have been laughing about it ever since noticing this juxtaposition on the Princes Highway at Tempe yesterday morning.

It certainly put a smile on my dial, but on the other hand, perhaps it's just creepy?

Suburban train, Tempe

No, I didn't have to stand by the rails to get this shot! At Tempe station, there is a low fence at the bottom of the station steps. I realised one day as a train swooshed past how close you are to them, so I took advantage and waited for a photo op. It's quite unusual at Sydney suburban stations to get this close when not actually on a platform.
